Weekly Message from Mrs Clayton
What a wonderful and festive week we have had at our school! Our Key Stage 1 Christmas Nativity performances have been a real highlight, and it has been a joy to see the children shine on stage. We also celebrated our International Christmas Fayre, bringing our whole school community together to honour cultural diversity with cultural dress, global foods, and festivities — truly one of my favourite days of the year!
Our Year 2 pupils took part in singing for St Luke’s Hospice at Eastgate Shopping Centre, delighting shoppers and parents alike. Selected children joined other schools in the Trust for a magical Christmas performance, where De La Salle Drama students acted each scene in between the scripted songs, while local primary students formed a large choir. Additionally, our Starstruck Club children spread festive cheer singing carols for residents at Mundy House care home.
Reception children also took part in a road safety presentation with parents, delivered by the Safer Essex Roads Partnership. The session included practical activities and interactive discussions about the importance of staying safe on the roads — a valuable learning experience for both children and families.
Tomorrow, our Year 2 pupils will join Year 3 for their Christmas Nativity performance at Most Holy Trinity Church, giving them a taste of what it will be like next year when they take the lead. Christmas parties will also commence tomorrow, and on Thursday, the children will enjoy a wonderful Christmas dinner before leaving for the holiday break at 1:15pm.
I would like to say a big thank you for all your support and for the children’s kindness and hard work over this busy term. I wish everyone a very blessed Christmas and a happy New Year with your families and friends, and I look forward to welcoming you all back on 5th January.
With best wishes,
Mrs Clayton
