Weekly Message from Mrs Warren

Dear Parents and Carers,

What a lovely and busy week we have had together! It has been wonderful to see our children learning, exploring and enjoying time together as a school family. We have celebrated Space Week in classes, and our Nursery children developed their physical skills through multi-skills. We were also delighted to welcome our governors into school this week, who enjoyed hearing about the wonderful things happening across our school.

Our Reception Phonics Parent Meeting was a great opportunity for families to find out more about how we teach phonics through Read Write Inc. and, importantly, how you can support your child’s reading journey at home. Thank you to all the parents who joined us—it was lovely to see such a strong commitment to working together to give our children the very best start with reading.  Please visit the school website for more information regarding reading and phonics.

Our faith has been at the heart of the week, with Year 2’s beautiful Stay and Pray focusing on Noah and a special visit from Fr Albert, who gave a blessing to our children and families, and our daily Rosary.

Next week is our penultimate week before half term, and the children will be busy practising for our Harvest celebrations. We are also really looking forward to welcoming families to our Breakfast Morning on Friday. We hope to see lots of you there for a lovely start to the day together!

Leilani (Doves), Imani (Kingfishers) and Sindara (Kingfishers) received the Headteacher's Award this week.  They all helped others this week at lunchtime and in class.  Well done to them all.

Wednesday Word

The Wednesday Word is a special resource that helps families share the Sunday Gospel together.  We encourage you to spend a little time together each week reading and talking about the Wednesday Word as a family.

Wednesday Word

Creation and Covenant - Branch 1

This half-term, the theme for our Religious Education Curriculum Branch is Creation and Covenant.  ‘The heavens are telling the glory of God’ (Ps 19:1).   In this branch, pupils will encounter the God who creates and calls all people. They will explore the revelation of the Christian belief that all that is comes from God, the Creation accounts in Genesis, and scientific explanations of the process of Creation. They will explore the call of God and his covenantal relationship with his people first through Abraham and Moses, then through the narrative of the Old Testament.
