Weekly Message from Mrs Clayton

On Wednesday evening the staff attended a Mass for our Trust schools at Brentwood Cathedral.  It was a beautiful Mass led by Fr Stephen Myers who is the Episcopal Vicar for Education.  Each Headteacher took up their school lantern and it was a lovely sight to see all 7 lanterns ablaze on the altar. St Anne Line Infant children took up the offertory and represented our school beautifully.

It was also fantastic to see so many parents at the 10.30am mass last Sunday, having their book bags blessed. It was a witness of our school and our faith.  We look forward to seeing you at the International Day of Peace Mass at the Most Holy Trinity Church on Sunday at 10:30am.

Wishing you a peaceful weekend with your families.

Creation and Covenant - Branch 1

This half-term, the theme for our Religious Education Curriculum Branch is Creation and Covenant.  ‘The heavens are telling the glory of God’ (Ps 19:1).   In this branch, pupils will encounter the God who creates and calls all people. They will explore the revelation of the Christian belief that all that is comes from God, the Creation accounts in Genesis, and scientific explanations of the process of Creation. They will explore the call of God and his covenantal relationship with his people first through Abraham and Moses, then through the narrative of the Old Testament.

English News

Next week, your children will come home with QR codes that link to our Read Write Inc. Phonics Virtual Classrooms. By scanning the code on a phone, tablet, or computer, you can access videos and games to help your child practise their sounds at home. This is a simple way for families to support reading at home and make phonics fun.

The QR codes are also available on the Learning tab (in the English area) on our school website.

A special visit from Miss Bond and baby Spencer

This week, we had a very special visitor in Year 1 and 2 – Sister Anne! She shared the inspiring story of Saint Francis of Assisi , reminding us of his love for all of God's creation and the importance of caring for our world. Her visit was the perfect lead-up to the Creation Mass at the beginning of October. The children will be creating beautiful posters to display in our parish churches, celebrating the wonder of God's creation and sharing their faith with the wider community. Thank you, Sister Anne, for your joy, wisdom, and for helping us prepare our hearts and minds for this special time. #CreationMass #SaintFrancis #CatholicLife #ParishCommunity #FaithInAction #SchoolVisit #REatSchool #LoveCreation

A beautiful celebration of faith and community at Brentwood Cathedral today! Children from our school, alongside families and fellow Christus Catholic Trust schools, came together for a special Trust Mass. It was a joy to see our children taking an active role in the liturgy especially helping with the offertory. A true reminder that we are one family in Christ. #ChristusTrust #CatholicEducation #BrentwoodCathedral #FaithInAction #OneFamilyInChrist

Online Safety Zone

Deciding what’s appropriate for children to see online

The online world gives us access to a huge amount of information and services, but the scale of information available also means that there is content that is inappropriate for children. What is or isn’t appropriate is up to individual parents and carers to decide, and could be based on things like age, ability, beliefs and family values.

What are parental controls?

Parental controls allow you to block and filter upsetting or inappropriate content. They work across your WiFi, phone network, individual apps and devices.

Parental controls can help you to:

  • plan what time of day your child can go online and how long for

  • create content filters to block apps that may have inappropriate content

  • manage the content different family members can see.

Click the image below or use this link to visit the NSPCC website for more advice on how to set up parental controls.  https://www.nspcc.org.uk/keeping-children-safe/online-safety/parental-controls/
