A Prayer from our children

Dear God,

How can we be a good friend of Jesus? Look after the world. How? Do not cut down the trees.  Why? Because Jesus made them and trees make paper.

Amen

End of School Year Message from Mrs Clayton

Dear Parents and Carers,

As this academic year draws to a close, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your continued support throughout the year. Your encouragement and partnership have made a real difference, and we are incredibly grateful to have such a supportive school community. This was so evident at our Family BBQ last Friday, when everybody came together to celebrate. The PTA did a fantastic job organising the event, and we are very grateful for all their hard work.

It has been wonderful to see the incredible progress the children have made across all areas of their learning and personal development, and we are so proud of all they have achieved. I would also like to express my sincere thanks to our dedicated staff. Their commitment, care and hard work ensure that every child is encouraged to be the very best they can be. I am extremely grateful for all they have done this year.

To our Year 2 children, we wish you every success as you begin the next exciting chapter of your education. We know you will continue to shine and make us proud. We also say a fond farewell to those families who are leaving St Anne Line Infants for the last time today, after having maybe two or three siblings journey through our school. Thank you for being such an important part of our school community—we wish you every happiness and success for the future.

Finally, I hope you all have a safe, happy and restful summer holiday. We look forward to welcoming everyone back in September, refreshed and ready for another exciting year of learning together.

With best wishes.

Happy National Numeracy Day! We've had such a lovely day celebrating all things maths! The children came dressed up and explored how maths is used in real life and in different careers. We also became maths investigators for the day with some fun zoo animal challenges How many children could fit inside an elephant's footprint? Can we jump as far as a kangaroo? Which animal is the tallest? Who can measure the longest leap? So much fun, learning and teamwork all while building confidence with numbers! #nationalnumeracyday

Last week we were privileged to host the Early Excellence Outdoor Roadshow - discovering how to strengthen the impact of our outdoor learning environment. It was a brilliant opportunity to see the expertise of Early Excellence in action, exploring how thoughtfully designed outdoor environments can deepen children's learning, curiosity, and independence. A huge thank you to Early Excellence for leading such an inspiring session, and to all the leaders and teachers who joined us for the rich professional discussions and shared practice. #EarlyExcellence #Roadshow #OutdoorProvision #OutdoorLearning #EarlyYears

The Summer Reading Challenge

The Summer Reading Challenge is the UK’s biggest annual reading initiative for children aged 4–11, run by The Reading Agency in partnership with public libraries across the country. It is a fantastic way to keep children reading for pleasure over the holidays, helping them maintain and build their reading confidence.

The launch of the 2026 Summer Reading Challenge started on Saturday, 4th July!

This year’s theme, Read to the Beat, celebrates the magic of stories and music, inspiring children to explore, imagine, and have fun.

Storytime has partnered with The Reading Agency and Universal Music to create a very special, music-themed edition of Storytime, “Read to the Beat”, as a reward for children completing the Challenge. Over 750,000 copies of this edition will be distributed to libraries nationwide, ensuring every child who takes part receives a special memento packed with super stories, fun activities, and gorgeous illustrations.

Please sign up for the Challenge, either at your local library, or visit the website by clicking the button below.

Saint Alphonsa Feast Day 28th July

On July 28th we remember a special person called Saint Alphonsa. She is one of our house saints. Saint Alphonsa (born Anna Muttathupadathu on August 19, 1910) was a nun and a teacher.  She lived in Kerala, India.  People knew her for her deep faith and special spiritual experiences.

She is very important because she was the first woman from India to be officially recognised as a saint by the Catholic Church.  She is also the first saint from the Syro-Malabar Catholic Church, which is a Christian community in India.

Saint Alphonsa dedicated her life to God and wanted to help others. Let us follow her example by helping others around us.
