Weekly Message from Mrs Clayton

Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome back!

We have had a great start to the new term. It has been such a pleasure to welcome our children back to school and to see their enthusiasm as they have settled into their new classes.

I would like to say a particularly warm welcome to all of our new children and families who have joined the St. Anne Line community this year. Starting a new school is a very special milestone, and we are incredibly proud of how well our new children have begun their journey with us.

Across the school, the children have spent their time getting to know their new classrooms, teachers and routines. They have enjoyed taking part in a range of exciting activities and, most importantly, reconnecting with friends and making new ones.

The next few weeks are busy with Meet the Teacher meetings and there are also some family events to give you the opportunity to meet new friends, such as the BIg Help Out on the 26th.

Have a lovely weekend, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back on Monday!

Take turns racing to a marker and back using an animal move.

Creation and Covenant - Branch 1

This half-term, the theme for our Religious Education Curriculum Branch is Creation and Covenant. ‘The heavens are telling the glory of God’ (Ps 19:1). In this branch, pupils will encounter the God who creates and calls all people. They will explore the revelation of the Christian belief that all that is comes from God, the Creation accounts in Genesis, and scientific explanations of the process of Creation. They will explore the call of God and his covenantal relationship with his people first through Abraham and Moses, then through the narrative of the Old Testament.

Happy National Numeracy Day! We've had such a lovely day celebrating all things maths! The children came dressed up and explored how maths is used in real life and in different careers. We also became maths investigators for the day with some fun zoo animal challenges How many children could fit inside an elephant's footprint? Can we jump as far as a kangaroo? Which animal is the tallest? Who can measure the longest leap? So much fun, learning and teamwork all while building confidence with numbers! #nationalnumeracyday

Last week we were privileged to host the Early Excellence Outdoor Roadshow - discovering how to strengthen the impact of our outdoor learning environment. It was a brilliant opportunity to see the expertise of Early Excellence in action, exploring how thoughtfully designed outdoor environments can deepen children's learning, curiosity, and independence. Online Safety Zone

We have become aware of an increasing trend of AI Fruit videos. These are slipping through the child filter safety nets on many platforms and though they begin quite innocently, they often turn dark with extreme violence depicted. The recommendation is that children access devices in the presence of an adult so that they can hear/see what is being viewed. It is so important to be aware of what your child is watching and encourage them to tell you if something they see online makes them feel upset or uncomfortable.

Snack-tember

Snack-tember is a month-long initiative celebrating healthier, more sustainable snacking.

Throughout September, a recipe will be added to our newsletter each week to help children and young people to make their own healthy snacks with the help of an adult:

Our Academic Calendar has been emailed to parents/carers today. If you would like a paper copy, please come to the school office.

Big Help Out

We would be delighted to see you on Saturday 26th of September between 9:30am and 11:30am to help with keeping our grounds looking lovely.

Please bring along your gardening gloves and tools along with any plant donations. There will be a bacon sandwich and a cup of tea for all the volunteers. This is a great opportunity for families to spend time together outside in the fresh air.

Please email office@salinf.org to let us know if you will be attending as it is helpful to know numbers for food. It should be a lovely opportunity for you to get outdoors with our school community.
