Weekly Message from Mrs Clayton
It has been another busy and inspiring week at our school. Year 2 enjoyed a wonderful trip to Southend, spending the day learning and exploring at the beach. We were delighted to welcome parents for our “Stay and Pray” session with Father Albert, who also visited Year 1 to prepare the children for the Month of Mary. This morning, we were pleased to see so many Reception families attend the phonics meeting led by Mrs Warren. Across all year groups, pupils have been learning in RE about creation and covenant, and how we can care responsibly for our world. In celebration of the Feast of St Francis of Assisi, you are invited to the upcoming Creation Mass this weekend in our parish churches, where Year 1 and Year 2’s beautiful creation posters will be on display. At the Most Holy Trinity, children are encouraged to bring a small toy animal for a blessing for our pets. We also bid farewell to our chicks as they returned safely to the farm. Finally, we look forward to celebrating the Feast of the Rosary with the children on 7th October.
Have a wonderful weekend with your families.

A Prayer for the Feast of St Francis of Assisi
Creator God, we praise your world and look with awe on all that is.
May we commit to heal the earth and share your gifts in faith and trust.
Your glory is reflected in all that you have made, Lord,
Lead us now to follow the example of St Francis,
as we seek to build a better world
and sing a song of praise for all creation.
St Francis, pray for us.

Creation and Covenant - Branch 1
This half-term, the theme for our Religious Education Curriculum Branch is Creation and Covenant. ‘The heavens are telling the glory of God’ (Ps 19:1). In this branch, pupils will encounter the God who creates and calls all people. They will explore the revelation of the Christian belief that all that is comes from God, the Creation accounts in Genesis, and scientific explanations of the process of Creation. They will explore the call of God and his covenantal relationship with his people first through Abraham and Moses, then through the narrative of the Old Testament.

Year 2 Take on Southend!
What a fantastic day exploring Southend! Our budding geographers identified human and physical features along the coast from the sandy beach to the iconic pier.
We can't wait to see the children's creativity shine over the next few weeks as they begin sketching the landscape as part of our art topic inspired by the sea, the sky, and all things coastal!
Learning outside the classroom has never been so fun!

Year 1 have been diving into science! This week, they've been learning all about fish and other animals. Using magnifying glasses, they explored and compared the structure of fish, comparing it to other creatures – from reptiles and amphibians to birds (including our newly hatched chicks) and mammals!

Trust Pilgrims Walk | Southend Seafront
Today, children and staff from our Trust schools took part in a special Pilgrims Walk along the Southend seafront. We walked together with happy hearts, with the waves beside us and friends all around, we had time to wonder, chat, and enjoy the beauty of God's world. A lovely day filled with smiles, stillness, and simple moments of joy.
