Weekly Message from Mrs Clayton

We are looking forward to Mass at Holy Trinity on Saturday at 2pm where Bishop Alan will be presiding. This is to mark 100 years of Catholics in Basildon. We have selected some children to bring up some Art work during the offertory and it is going to be a wonderful celebration.

The children have also been busy this week with EYFS visiting the church, a lovely Stay and Pray from Year 1 and Rosary club each day to mark the month of October.

Have a lovely weekend with your families.

Prayer Bag

Starting Monday, we will begin sending home a special prayer bag for Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 children. Only one will be given out in class at a time, and each child will have a turn to bring it home. Inside the front cover of the book, you’ll find instructions explaining what the prayer bag contains and how to use it together as a family. Please take some time to pray together, and your child is welcome to write or share a prayer in the book. The bag should be returned the next day so it can be shared with another child.

Creation and Covenant - Branch 1

This half-term, the theme for our Religious Education Curriculum Branch is Creation and Covenant.  ‘The heavens are telling the glory of God’ (Ps 19:1).   In this branch, pupils will encounter the God who creates and calls all people. They will explore the revelation of the Christian belief that all that is comes from God, the Creation accounts in Genesis, and scientific explanations of the process of Creation. They will explore the call of God and his covenantal relationship with his people first through Abraham and Moses, then through the narrative of the Old Testament.

United in Prayer | Feast of Our Lady Today, our staff came together to pray the Rosary in honor of the Blessed Virgin Mary. On this beautiful Feast of Our Lady, we entrusted our work, our children, and our families to Mary's loving care. May her example of faith, humility, and strength continue to inspire us in all we do. #FeastOfOurLady #RosaryPrayer #CatholicCommunity #MarianFeast #StaffFaith #ToJesusThroughMary #PrayTogether #OctoberDevotions #OurLadyOfTheRosary

Year 2 Take on Southend! What a fantastic day exploring Southend! Our budding geographers identified human and physical features along the coast from the sandy beach to the iconic pier. We can't wait to see the children's creativity shine over the next few weeks as they begin sketching the landscape as part of our art topic inspired by the sea, the sky, and all things coastal! Learning outside the classroom has never been so fun! #Year2Trip #SouthendAdventures #GeographyInAction #HumanAndPhysicalFeatures #LearningIsFun #SchoolTripVibes #KS1Geography

Year 1 have been diving into science! This week, they've been learning all about fish and other animals. Using magnifying glasses, they explored and compared the structure of fish, comparing it to other creatures – from reptiles and amphibians to birds (including our newly hatched chicks) and mammals! #Year1Science #AnimalKingdom #YoungScientists #STEMlearning #CuriousMinds #HandsOnLearning #PrimaryScience
