Weekly Message from Mrs Clayton

Welcome back to school, I hope that you all had a lovely summer.  I know that many of you work during the school holiday and juggling childcare alongside this can be difficult so I do hope you managed to spend some time together as a family.

This week, the children have settled in very well to their new classes and routines. They have been brilliant at parking their scooters in the new scooter shed and walking sensibly to classes.

We started the week with a celebration of the 'The World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation'. This is an annual event at the start of September to mark the start of the 'Season of Creation', a month-long ecumenical celebration of prayer for the environment that concludes on the feast day of St. Francis of Assisi (October 4th).  It was established by Pope Francis in 2015, this day invites Christians to renew their commitment to stewardship of the planet, offering prayers of thanks for creation and asking for help to protect it.  I read the children a letter from Pope Leo XIV asking us to sow "Seeds of Peace and Hope" to transform nature from a parched desert into a fruitful field.  Over the next few weeks we will plant seeds in the Pope Francis Garden area of the Forest School to remind us of this mission.

Have a wonderful weekend with your children.

On behalf of the Governing Body, I would like to warmly welcome all our children, families, and staff back to the start of this new school year. A special welcome goes to those who are joining our school community for the first time—we are delighted to have you with us.

As a Catholic school, we begin this year rooted in faith, hope, and love, and we look forward to working together to ensure every child grows in learning, confidence, and joy. May the year ahead be filled with new opportunities, achievements, and God’s blessings for us all.

Creation and Covenant - Branch 1

This half-term, the theme for our Religious Education Curriculum Branch is Creation and Covenant.  ‘The heavens are telling the glory of God’ (Ps 19:1).   In this branch, pupils will encounter the God who creates and calls all people. They will explore the revelation of the Christian belief that all that is comes from God, the Creation accounts in Genesis, and scientific explanations of the process of Creation. They will explore the call of God and his covenantal relationship with his people first through Abraham and Moses, then through the narrative of the Old Testament.

Welcome Back – Let's Start the Year Safely Online!
