Weekly Message from Mrs Clayton
This Sunday, 14th of September, is Education Sunday and all children and their parents are invited to share in the special celebration Mass taking place at Holy Trinity Church at 10.30am.
I would particularly like to extend a warm welcome to new families. To mark the start of your child's journey at St Anne Line, there will be a special blessing of school book bags for the children who have started in Reception and Nursery.
Children are to sit with their parents during the service and will be invited to come to the front at the appropriate time.
As the children will be representing the school, we would like them to wear their school uniform to the service if possible.
I will also be speaking at the end of mass about the importance of Education in all of our lives. I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible.
Have a lovely weekend with your families.

Creation and Covenant - Branch 1
This half-term, the theme for our Religious Education Curriculum Branch is Creation and Covenant. ‘The heavens are telling the glory of God’ (Ps 19:1). In this branch, pupils will encounter the God who creates and calls all people. They will explore the revelation of the Christian belief that all that is comes from God, the Creation accounts in Genesis, and scientific explanations of the process of Creation. They will explore the call of God and his covenantal relationship with his people first through Abraham and Moses, then through the narrative of the Old Testament.

We're excited to introduce our new Faith Disciples, who will be working closely with Mrs Cassar, our dedicated school chaplain. These pupils will play an important role in nurturing our school's spiritual life and helping to share God's love across our community.
Today, our KS1 children had a special visit to Holy Trinity Church, where they were warmly welcomed by Father Albert. He blessed the children for the start of the new school year, filling their hearts with joy, peace, and purpose as they begin their journey.
We're so proud of our children for stepping into this year with faith, kindness, and open hearts.

"To sing is to pray twice" – Saint Augustine
Our Year 2 children have been joyfully preparing a Child-Celebration of the Word all about praying in our own way – and for them, that means singing!
With guidance from their teachers, the children helped plan their own liturgy, choosing songs and prayers that express their faith in a special and personal way. What a beautiful way to grow in love for God and each other!

Today we had a beautiful assembly all about Saint Carlo Acutis, a young saint who inspires us with his deep faith and love for the Eucharist.
Afterwards, our Year 1 and 2 children gathered in prayer, asking Saint Carlo to guide us in our faith and help us grow closer to God.
A lovely moment of peace, reflection, and community

Happy Birthday, Mother Mary!
Yesterday, we joyfully celebrated the Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, also lovingly known as Marymass (from Mary + Mass).
September 8th marks the liturgical celebration of her birth, a day filled with love, prayer, and devotion. Just like a true birthday party, we all sang Happy Birthday to our beloved Mother!
May her life continue to inspire us to live with grace, humility, and faith.

Seeds of Peace and Hope
This year, our children celebrated World Environment Day by creating bright, colourful sea creatures from plastic bottle tops a beautiful reminder that even small actions can help combat plastic pollution. This is our new display in our foyer!
In the same spirit, Pope Francis invites us to mark 1st September, the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation, by caring for our common home. The theme "Seeds of Peace and Hope" reminds us that through prayer and everyday acts of love, we can help our world flourish.
Our children are learning how pollution affects nature, animals, and people and how they can make a difference. By reusing materials, planting seeds, and showing kindness to all of creation, they are becoming true seeds of peace and hope for the future.

Today we held a Welcome Back Assembly for KS1, centred on Pope Francis' World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation.
We reflected on this year's theme, "Seeds of Peace and Hope", and how we are called to care for our common home through prayer, action, and love just like Jesus taught. Our children planted seeds with Mrs Clayton, which we will take care of and watch grow.
Let's all be seeds of peace and hope in our world.
