Cygnets had a wonderful church visit this week, where the children explored the church alongside their parents and carers. They have been learning about different objects found in a church, including the font, the altar, the pews, and the Holy cross. Forest School Fun Doves Class had an exciting time in Forest School this week! They loved exploring the swing, rope ladder and hammock, as well as getting creative in the mud kitchen. The children also used 'loose parts' to build their own unique models. There was lots of excitement as we investigated the pond. We wondered if there were any tadpoles yetand were delighted to discover they had just started to hatch! We saw them wiggling in the jelly, with some already becoming tadpoles. To top it all off, while we were observing, a frog suddenly appeared from underneath the frogspawn and swam off to nearby plants. A wonderful day for our CAFOD Big Lent Walk Our families and staff came together at Langdon Nature Discovery Park to take part in this special walk, supporting CAFOD and making a difference together. Cygnets had their Mothers Day stay and play this morning. It was a lovely opportunity for the parents to spend time in the nursery environment alongside their child. They were able to engage in some of their favourite activities first hand and how they learn through play. Children listened to a great assembly this week with Margaret talking about CAFOD and the Big Lent Walk! We learned how walking during Lent can help raise money to support communities around the world. It was really inspiring to hear how small actions can make a big difference. World Book Day Fun! What a fantastic day celebrating World Book Day! The children loved reading in the sunshine and taking part in lots of exciting book-themed activities. We had some wonderful guest readers, brilliant dress-up as favourite book characters, and plenty of smiles throughout the day. Year 2 Stay and Pray Liturgy – World Book Day This week, as we celebrate World Book Day, our Year 2 children gathered for a special Stay and Pray liturgy focused on books and most importantly, the most special book of all, the Bible. The children reflected beautifully on how the Bible teaches us about God's love and guides us to follow His word in our daily lives.
