Faith Disciples

At St Anne Line Catholic Infant School and Nursery, we encourage our children to grow in faith and to live out the Gospel in their daily lives. One of the ways we do this is through our Faith Disciples.

Who are the Faith Disciples?

Our Faith Disciples are a group of children chosen from each class (Reception to Year 2) to act as prayer leaders and role models of faith within our school community. They are children who show kindness, care for others, and a willingness to share their faith in simple but meaningful ways.

What do they do?

  • Lead Prayer and Worship – Faith Disciples help to prepare and sometimes lead our Celebrations of the Word, both in class and in larger gatherings.

  • Support Our Chaplaincy – They meet regularly with Mrs Cassar, our school chaplain, as part of the Faith Explorers Club. Together, they explore scripture, prayer, and practical ways of living out our Catholic values.

  • Prepare Prayer Spaces – They help set up focal points and prayer tables in classrooms and around the school, ensuring that our prayer areas reflect the liturgical season.

  • Live Out the Mission – Faith Disciples think about how we can put the Gospel into action, from caring for creation to showing kindness and respect in our daily lives.

Why is it important?

Being a Faith Disciple is a special responsibility. It helps our children to:

  • Grow in confidence as leaders.

  • Deepen their relationship with God.

  • Share their gifts of faith, prayer and service with others.

Our Faith Disciples remind us that everyone in our school is called to be a disciple of Christ – listening to God’s Word and putting it into action in our everyday lives.
