Our Geography curriculum aims to inspire young learners to become curious and explorative thinkers, fostering a sense of awe and respect for the world around them as God’s creation. We want pupils to develop the confidence to observe, question, and explore a wide range of places, recording their observations and sharing their findings with others.
Through engaging topics, enquiry questions, fieldwork, and practical investigation, children learn about both the human and physical features of different environments, locally and globally. They build early map skills, compare contrasting locations, and begin to understand how people interact with and influence their surroundings. Our book focus for each unit engages and inspires children.
Rooted in our Catholic ethos and guided by the principles of Laudato Si’, our curriculum encourages children to see themselves as stewards of creation. Pupils learn about caring for the Earth, protecting natural resources, and understanding the impact of human choices—helping them to develop a sense of responsibility for our common home.
