Prayer Booklets

As pupils move through the school, the Prayer Booklets are carefully designed to grow with them, reflecting their increasing understanding and maturity in faith. In Nursery and Reception, children are introduced to short, familiar prayers such as the Sign of the Cross, Morning Prayer, and Grace Before Meals. These simple prayers help them begin to recognise prayer as a natural part of daily life and to speak to God in their own words.

In Key Stage 1, pupils learn a wider range of traditional prayers, including the Our Father, Hail Mary, and Glory Be, while also being encouraged to create and share their own personal prayers. They begin to understand the different forms of prayer — praise, thanksgiving, asking for help, and saying sorry — and how each one helps us to draw closer to God.

By the time pupils leave St Anne Line, they will have developed not only a rich knowledge of Catholic prayers but also a personal prayer life grounded in reflection, gratitude, and trust in God. Our Prayer Booklets support this spiritual journey, ensuring that prayer remains at the heart of every child’s school experience and faith formation.
