Welcome to Computing at St Anne Line Catholic Infant School. At our school, we recognise that computing plays a central role in modern life and believe that a high-quality computing education equips pupils to use computational thinking and creativity to understand and change the world. Our aim is to ensure that all children become confident, responsible, and competent users of technology, prepared to thrive in a digital future.
In Computing, pupils develop their problem-solving skills, creativity, and logical thinking through hands-on activities that introduce programming, digital literacy, and safe use of technology. Just as in Art and Design or Design and Technology, children are encouraged to explore, experiment, and create—using digital tools to express ideas, present information, and bring their thinking to life.
We teach pupils to use technology respectfully and responsibly, helping them recognise that their actions online have a real impact. Rooted in our Catholic ethos, children learn that digital choices should reflect values such as kindness, honesty, and care for others. Online safety is embedded throughout, guiding pupils to navigate the digital world with wisdom and integrity.
Our curriculum encourages reflection on how technology can support learning, communication, and creativity, while also helping pupils to understand the importance of balancing screen use with healthy habits. By building a secure understanding of how technology works—and how it can be used safely and purposefully—we prepare our pupils to participate positively and thoughtfully in an ever-changing digital world.
